TikTok tests a new feature similar to Snapchat’s streaks

According to Tech Crunch, the video-sharing app TikTok is developing a new “Streak” feature akin to Snapchat in an effort to extend user engagement and broaden the service’s user base.

There are rumors that the functionality is presently being tested with a small group of people. Although TikTok has acknowledged the report, it hasn’t offered any more information.

According to the video sharing app, new features and changes are being tested.

Users must message someone for more than three days in a row in order to keep their streaks alive.

When finished, a streak day count and a streak badge will show up in the chat. If neither party messages the other in the chat within a day, the streak may come to an end.

TikTok will alert users to the impending break in the streaks so they may submit messages.

On the other hand, users can disable streaks if they so choose by accessing the notifications panel, selecting privacy from the settings menu, and then finding the option to disable streaks in the streak settings.

The main goal of this feature, according to TikTok, is to boost user engagement and motivate them to spend more time on the video-sharing app.
