“Supreme Court must decide”: Trump expects judges to reverse the guilty decision in his hush money case.

Donald Trump, the former US president, is relying on the Supreme Court to reverse his guilty decision in the hush money case.

“On his social media network Truth Social, President Trump declared that the US Supreme Court “must make a decision.”

In the hush money case, Trump was found guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying company records last week. He was the first American president to be found guilty, whether in office or not.

Trump blasted the judge and said the trial was rigged after the guilty judgment. In an attempt to keep him from winning the US presidential election later this year, he has framed the case as a part of a larger conspiracy. He has promised to challenge the decision and attacked the judge as being extremely conflicted.

Trump nominated three conservative justices to the Supreme Court during his presidency. With three judges who are considered loyal to Trump and a conservative 6:3 majority on the court, Trump is hoping that the hush money conviction will be overturned by the US Supreme Court.

In addition, the Supreme Court is also deliberating over another Trump-related lawsuit. Trump made a request to be excused from prosecution after a special counsel probe was opened against him for allegedly attempting to void the outcome of the 2020 election. He claimed that under American law, he is completely immune from prosecution in his capacity as president. The court is still considering the case right now.

Trump may anticipate relief from justices who are seen favorably by him, but it is unlikely that the Supreme Court will step in to support him, according to an expert. Former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal brought up the court’s 8-1 decision against him in a January 6 committee case during an interview on Inside With Jen Psaki in 2022.

Katyal went on to say that the Supreme Court hardly ever gets involved in state convictions.

“You know, Trump has been a dead loser in the Supreme Court every time that it comes up, and I think that’s important to point out,” he went on. “I mean, he was reprimanded repeatedly for the 2020 election, and he won 8 to 1 on executive privilege with only Justice Thomas voting against it.It’s possible that they may identify a federal problem in this case, and that an appeal will be filed. But I think it’s difficult,” Katyal remarked.

In addition to criticizing the trial and urging the Supreme Court to rule in his favor, Trump has hinted that his followers would resort to political violence.
