Group 2 pace-setters playing in a Super 8 match at Gros Islet’s Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium

South Africa and England, two of the strongest teams remaining in the Super Eight, will square off on Friday at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet. England chose to field first after winning the toss.

In this round, both teams had prevailed in their opening match. England beat the West Indies, and South Africa thrashed the United States.

Buttler said they want to try chasing on the new surface once more. “Looks like a good pitch, fresh wicket, we fancy another chase.” There might be some dampness on the ground, but the ball will definitely swing in the breeze.”

Aiden Markram, meanwhile, declared that he would have also bowled. “We’ll attempt to score well and then apply pressure to them.”

Tabraiz Shamsi has been replaced by Ottneil Baartman in the Proteas, while England remains untouched.
